What our lab offers

Specialist in Custom Fitted Glasses for Under 16 and High Power and Complex Prescription Lenses

Chris McGregor, father in the family run business, was an expert glazing technician for many multiple opticians. He started his career in Alan M Todd in Rutherglen before moving to Norvilles Optical and subsequently head technician in 2020 and Optical Express.

He was head-hunted and ran the largest laboratory in Scotland at Optical Express head office in Cumbernauld.

Chris McGregor is regarded as one of the best technicians in Scotland, and he decided he wanted to try and run his own lab for himself. So, he did, and he set up the first CM Optical lab in a shed in the back garden of our home.

From there he serviced many of the West Lothian public and subsequently achieved full time glazing accounts with several opticians in Glasgow.

Since the shed was too small he moved to North Bridge Street in Bathgate and then finally into a specialist lab within the Whitburn practice where it still remains today.
